Busy . . .

I've entered that busy stretch for me from mid-November to mid-December. Amidst all my regular rehearsals and duties, rehearsals started this week for our Christmas concert "festival choir", in which choristers from all my choirs get together and sing a few selections. It's a wonderful opportunity, but it adds a quite a bit of time to my work week. We also have rehearsals for an "Honors Mass" at the cathedral in Peoria this Sunday. These are pretty intensive, as we'll rehearse Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night, with a long day on Sunday between driving, more rehearsing, and the mass itself. So altogether, I'll have 8 rehearsals in a 6 day span. I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving break!

Happy Anniversary!

Well, yesterday was our one-year anniversary since starting this blog! Since yesterday was All Saints Day, I think it's safe to say that the patron saint of our blog is . . . well, all of 'em!

It seems that in the 52 weeks since we started this, we've posted 59 times, just a shade over one per week. I think we both had hoped that we each could post once a week (which would be a bit over a hundred posts per year), but it just hasn't played out that way. I'd like to say we'll be more regular this year, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Today is All Souls Day, a day in the Catholic Church in which the souls of the departed are remembered. Today we call to mind our deceased relatives and pray for their souls. We especially keep in mind the following:

Bill Gale
Clarence "Cub" Morber
Cathryn Morber
William Scott
Margaret "Mimi" Scott
Neil Shy

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
